The Clipper XL is a rotationally molded plastic pulk sled that offers generous cargo space for larger loads and longer trips. Ideal for backcountry hunting or fishing, hot tent camping, or any other activity requiring bulky winter gear. Our unique, convenient retractable fins provide excellent side-hill or downhill control with the flick of a ski pole. Includes the base sled, secure straps, full-length poles and pole attachment pins.

Full-length Poles

The Full Length Poles are included in the base price of the pulk package. Our full-length, 6-feet-long fiberglass poles are incredibly strong yet flexible. The poles are 1/2" fiberglass rods with aluminum ends. The set weighs about 2lbs 6oz plus about 8oz for the Channel Kit. Please note that we make these poles by hand and they often get scuffed and scratched during the process (or during shipping) but this does not affect their functionality.

Harness Harness

All of our harnesses start with 1/2" of top rated MiniCell foam and enclose it in a 500 denier Cordura Nylon coated cloth. In order to reduce winter breakage, all buckles are made from acetal by top rated Duraflex. For added security, there's 2 inches of continuous nylon webbing around the harness belt. Retractable fins for Clipper XL

A popular feature of our Clipper XL Pulk is our unique retractable fins. These provide excellent side-hill or downhill control with the flick of a ski pole. Note that we do not sell Clipper XL fins as aftermarket add-ons since the fins and sled need to be custom fitted in our shop.

Clipper XL Cover

Our Clipper XL cover consists of two parts. The large main cover has a full length zipper and mitten pulls. The upper compression cover helps to lower the center of gravity and stabilize your load, while also allowing you to easily secure large items like skis or snowshoes. The covers are fully removable and are made of durable, water resistant material to keep your gear dry in winter. **Cover color combinations may vary**

Maxx Waxx

This jojoba-based sled and ski wax is amazing in changing conditions. The heavily-flourinated paste rubs in easily and hardens on contact with warm, wet snow, ensuring easy turning, good control and stay-clean bottoms.

Field Repair Kit

Includes one of each of the pole ends (eye bolt and ball joint), a carabiner and wirelock pin. While it's extremely unlikely that any of our pole parts will break, certain collisions can result in twisting forces with enough force to shear the metal shafts of the parts. This kit allows for field repair.

We hike into a remote cabin several times each winter with all the gear required for a comfortable week or two. Knowing no better, we’ve done this with off-the-shelf sleds intended for recreational sledding and a bridled rope pull. The results were always aggravating and the hike in and out became the low point of our trip. Before resorting to purchasing some form of motorized transport, I had two Clipper XL pulks set up and shipped out for the last trip of the season this year. A) the support over the phone on what to purchase was fantastic. B) they arrived early with plenty of time to familiarize ourselves with the new equipment, and C) What a difference these purpose-built pulks made! The hike in and out was a breeze. After waxing the sleds and balancing the load, they glide right along showing no evidence of the weighty cargo they contained. Now that we have these to rely on, we’re most certainly looking forward to the next trip. Heck, we’ll probably even load another case of beer because we won’t even know its there until we arrive. Thanks for a great product!

I purchased the ClipperXL Pulk for carrying my bulky winter hot tenting and ice fishing gear. I just used it on a 3 day camping and ice fishing trip and I was very happy with the performance. It easily handled over 100 lbs. of my heavy gear like wood stoves and ice augers. It pulls really well through the woods, trails and lakes that I explore. The fitted cover and compression straps keep everything very secure and in place. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the pulk. It is very well made and extremely durable. The retractable fins make side hills and uneven terrain a breeze. I wish I would have ordered one sooner. I can’t wait to get out and use it on some more upcoming trips. Thanks for making a great product that I can enjoy in the outdoors.
