Alaska Gear Company Northern Sled Works Siglin pulks are made of Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene (UHMW). UHMW is a remarkable material. It’s incredibly tough and takes a lot of abrasion by rocks. It remains durable even in temperatures dropping below -60° F. These pulks include side rigging so you can create a lashing system to secure your gear.

Choose from a 4′, 5′ or 6′ pulk. The 4′ pulk starts at $340, the 5′ pulk starts at $375 and the 6′ pulk starts at $400. These are the total costs shipped to the lower 48 states. This is for the pulk only – additional optional accessories can be added below.

**Note that these pulks only come with the channel kit installed if you order poles.

Better poles make better pulks! Pulling your pulk with poles will allow for better control on hilly and/or forested terrain. All of our poles are incredibly strong while still being flexible enough to reduce injury or equipment failure during a fall.

Harness Harness

All of our harnesses start with 1/2" of top rated MiniCell foam and enclose it in a 500 denier Cordura Nylon coated cloth. In order to reduce winter breakage, all buckles are made from acetal by top rated Duraflex. For added security, there's 2 inches of continuous nylon webbing around the harness belt. **Note that the Expedition Harness listed below is to be used with loads 80lbs+ when pulling with poles.

Paris Duffel Bag

Made by us specifically for the Paris system, this 48″×12″×15″ duffel with approximately 8,640 cubic inches of storage space is a perfect fit. Constructed with 600 denier water-resistant nylon and a full-length, #10 heavy-duty YKK zipper, it can handle the roughest abuse while keeping your gear safe from the elements. Oversized zipper pulls let you gain access without having to remove your gloves. Weighs approx 1.75lbs.

Maxx Waxx

This jojoba-based sled and ski wax is amazing in changing conditions. The heavily-flourinated paste rubs in easily and hardens on contact with warm, wet snow, ensuring easy turning, good control and stay-clean bottoms.

Field Repair Kit

Includes one of each of the pole ends (eye bolt and ball joint), a carabiner and wirelock pin. While it's extremely unlikely that any of our pole parts will break, certain collisions can result in twisting forces with enough force to shear the metal shafts of the parts. This kit allows for field repair.

Pulk Sled Bungee Rope with Channel Connector Kit

Built for flexibility and ease of use when pulk control isn't essential, this shock absorbing sled pulling bungee is designed to last. This product also includes the Channel Kit to attach to your pulk.

This rope pulling system is made of strong tubular webbing with an integrated bungee shock cord. Designed for use with SkiPulk's Expedition Rope Pulling Harness, or your own harness or pack waist belt, it includes four 12 kn carabiners; two attach to the sides of the harness and two attach to the pulk.

Pulling your pulk with rope allows quicker access to your sled without needing to disconnect poles.

Ideal for ultramarathon races, training, tire pulling, lake travel and other terrain not requiring as much control of your sled. When traveling in wooded or hilly areas, poles are still recommended for control.

Description

These pulks are made of Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene (UHMW). UHMW is a remarkable material. It’s incredibly tough and takes a lot of abrasion by rocks.

To make the sled load as narrow as possible for pulling, try loading it about six inches deep with heavy gear, then lacing the pulk tightly to pull the sides in. A second layer can then be tied on top. The sides can be pulled together at the front, or the center of the front can be pulled back to alter the angle at which the front of the sled meets the snow in deep snow conditions.

Store the sled out of direct sunlight.
